Dr Shepelo Getrude Peter

Dr. Shepelo is a veterinarian, currently teaching at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Department of Clinical Studies. Prof Ali BOUATTOUR

Dr. Bouattour currently serves as the Director of Viruses, Vectors, and Hosts: “One Health” Approach and Technological Innovation for Better Health Laboratory, at the Pasteur Institute, Ministry of Health, in Tunisia. Dr. Bouattour directs this laboratory, the general objective of which is monitoring and controlling the circulation pathogens, particularly these emerging, for early warning. This surveillance is carried out according to a multidisciplinary approach which is part of the concept of "One Health". Previously, he served as the Head of the Parasitology Laboratory for the Veterinary Institute, Ministry of Agriculture Tunisia (1982-1991). Dr.Abdallah Samy
Dr. Samy’s lab has expertise in vector-borne diseases, disease burden analysis, and health economics. His research addresses several questions at the interface of ecology, epidemiology, public health, and global health. He is broadly interested in studying zoonosis, arboviral epidemiology, and the climate change influences on disease dynamic and spread. His lab uses an interdisciplinary and multi-faceted approach to research questions, typically using a combination of field and lab experiments, geographic information systems, remote sensing, ecological modeling, and phylogeography. His current work on arboviruses and mosquito-borne diseases is focused on developing disease forecasts, understanding the major drivers of disease spread, and identifying the possible shifts at disease risk in response to global warming in the future.

Dr Mercy Murigu

Dr Mercy Murigu is a Veterinary Doctor with a Master’s degree in Veterinary Applied Parasitology from the University of Nairobi, Kenya. Currently, she works for the Central Veterinary Laboratories -Acarology Laboratory on tick identification and acaricide susceptibility/resistance testing. She also carries out field efficacy evaluation and dip stability trials of new acaricides before registration in the country. Miss Faith Mutavi

Miss Faith Mutavi is a socio-environmentalist with a transdisciplinary background in ecology, environment, and communication science. Her interests are anchored in understanding socio-ecological processes, their link to humans, and how knowledge about these processes is shaped and shared within stakeholder networks to inform practices. She is keen to link scientific evidence with practice to improve productivity, safety, and livelihoods. Dr Mbayimbayi is a veterinarian interested in livestock disease control and management in resource-constrained communities. Dr Mbayimbayi believes a resilience field approach to livestock production, health and policy is the only way towards attaining sustainable Livestock Livelihoods.
